The rule, as Missouri writes it

Missouri exempts bullion and investment coins from state AND all local sales taxes. Bullion means gold, silver, platinum or palladium in bulk, valued on content rather than form, at a purity of not less than 900 parts per 1,000. Investment coins must have a fair market value greater than their face value.
